Changing small habits

I don’t do it constantly, but at times I do sneak on my phone at a stop light or when I text, “almost there” to a friend. I remember watching Oprah (when it was still on) about the No Phone Zone and was adamant to abide the rule. But surprisingly watching Kingsleys recent video has made me want to make sure that I no longer touch my phone at all during my driving from point A to point B. I’ll be honest, I am not THE best driver. I don’t like driving a lot of my friends around because it’s kind of embarrassing.

Seriously though, how dumb would it be if something tragic were to happen and it was all because I had to text a “LOL” or something. So starting tomorrow, no matter the urge at a light or empty residential area, I am going to put my phone in the pocket in my bag, zip the pocket and tie my bag, place my bag in the back seat/or on the floor of the passengers seat and drive.

Thank you, Kingsley

you too, Oprah

Easy Come, Easy Go

I know this song came out along time ago but every time it comes on I turn it up. I love the tune of it. It’s catchy and Bruno Mars voice just screams YUMMMM OH! But other then the tune. I cannot stand the lyrics. When I was driving home I turned it up and found myself screaming out all the lyrics. Then I turned to my side and realized that the car next to me did a quick glance at me and I quickly found myself shutting up. No, I was not embarrassed for singing screaming out loud for that is one of my specialties. But, I was embarrassed for saying those words, I wanted to just have a quick conversation at before the stoplight turned green on how, “I just really really like the beat, I would never catch a grenade for you. Have a nice day!”

After the car next to me left, I kept quiet and actually listened closely and critically at the annoying words Bruno beautifully sang. I then wanted to grab Bruno Mars by his shoulders and shake him and say, “SHE IS NOT WORTH IT HOMIE!” If someone makes you feel the need to sing a song of hurting yourself to show how much you love them then leave because that’s freaky.

I haven’t listened to the radio in a while (No not because I am anti mainstream, although it does get tiring to hear the same song play over and over I like it that everyone knows the words to a song and if it comes on everyone can sing it. So yes I enjoy mainstream very very much) because I didn’t have my car until recently but by golly gee they play that song like crazy because I switched stations and it was replaying the whole song!

Instead of changing stations I just listened and changed the words to nonsense gibberish to the beat to appease myself the rest of way home.
